Introduction

A special thank you to the students who contributed work to the inaugural issue of Navigations: A First-Year College Composite. In this collection, readers will find three personal narratives and one critical essay that treat themes of adversity, achievement, and belonging, as well as a visual piece designed to raise awareness about an issue of critical importance to students on college campuses. We hope this publication will inspire other student authors and artists to share the discoveries they make in their first-year of college.
