Description

In the fall of 2024, the Emory Libraries’ OER Committee had a strong turnout and high participant engagement at its “OER Lunch and Learn” event for faculty. The Lunch and Learn featured an OER petting zoo, an OER presentation, and a hands-on activity in which faculty identified and evaluated OERs in different platforms. In this lightning talk, we will share the nuts and bolts of our event planning and materials as well as strategies for hosting a successful OER Lunch and Learn at your own institution. The Emory Libraries’ OER Committee is made up of librarians from across the Emory Libraries system and from the two Emory campuses. The lightning talk will share the committee's tips for working on shared initiatives across very different campuses, the larger Atlanta campus of Emory and the smaller liberal arts Oxford campus.
