About This Journal

The Young African Leaders Journal of Development was established by Prince Ifoh, founder of the Young African Leaders Forum, to host scholarly analysis and competing views about the development of Africa. The journal seeks to address a critical gap in global scholarship: the under-representation of African-led, Africa-centered research in mainstream academic publishing. Since its first issue in 2016, YALJOD has evolved into a credible platform for evidence-based research, critical reflection, and innovative policy ideas aimed at fostering inclusive and sustainable development across the African continent.

The journal is published by the Young African Leaders Forum (YALF), a Pan-African civic and leadership organization with over a decade of experience in youth leadership development, governance advocacy, and policy engagement across Africa.

YALJOD is committed to:

  • Amplifying African scholarly voices
  • Encouraging youth-led development discourse
  • Bridging African research and African policy
  • Promoting ethical, inclusive, and transformative development discourse
  • Upholding international academic publishing standards

The journal is published annually and is hosted online to ensure global accessibility.
