    Abstract

Recently, there has been an incresing interest in the design of sophisticated ligands because they can provide additional functions for use in catalysis and in material science. Poly-N-heterocyclic carbenes have been used with great success for the synthesis of such ligands. This project describes the synthesis and characterization of a new such poly-NHC. The new ligand was characterized by proton and carbon NMR spectroscopy. Its coordination to two coinage metals (gold and silver) was achieved. The new complexes were characterized by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray analysis.
