Abstract

This project examines the book From The Folks Who Brought You The Weekend by Priscilla Murolo and A.B. Chitty. The authors challenge popular misconceptions and attempt to provide a more nuanced history of American labor movements by connecting back to many issues we still face today in the workplace (e.g.: sexual harassment and racial prejudice). This presentation allows readers to reflect on the history of American labor and acknowledge the common theme of struggle for the working class throughout U.S. history.
