Abstract

The United Nations Environment Programme states that the world’s cities occupy just three percent of the earth’s land, but account for sixty to eighty percent of energy consumption and seventy-five percent of carbon emissions. Sustainable architecture aims to minimize the environmental impact of buildings by using local, natural materials and energy efficient designs. This video offers a look at the features of green housing and urges viewers to consider minor changes within their homes that can have a positive impact on the environment.
