Fair Use Week is a relatively new annual event that celebrates the importance of fair use (called fair dealing in Canada) and its doctrines. KSU’s celebration of Fair Use Week incorporated presentations on topics such as copyright and author’s rights and highlighted KSU authors through a series of Author Spotlights. The Fair Use Week planning committee coordinatedvirtual events and presentations related to fair use and copyright and collaborated with members of the KSU community and beyond.

The topics presented during Fair Use Week 2021 at KSU include:

  • The application of fair use to images and art in teaching and research
  • Authors rights within the publishing process
  • Copyright and fair use basics for librarians and faculty
  • KSU Author Spotlights
