Faculty Recital: Trey Wright, guitar, "Some of my Best Friends are Saxophonists"
Trey Wright, Mace Hibbard, Sam Skelton, Marc Miller, and Marlon Patton
Trey Wright, guitarist and Senior Lecturer of Jazz Studies and Jazz Guitar, performs sax-filled tunes featuring saxophonists Mace Hibbard and Sam Skelton. "The title of this program was inspired by bassist Ray Brown’s Some of my best friends are … album series in which each album would feature some of Ray’s favorite artists on a specific instrument. Over the past several years I have been fortunate to have Mace and Sam perform music I have written, but I have never had the opportunity to have both saxophonists on the same concert. Tonight’s program will celebrate the artistry of both musicians with a mix of older and more recent original compositions.
