This concert showcases our fleet of Steinway pianos and talented piano faculty including Dr. Robert Henry, International Steinway Artist and KSU Director of Piano Studies, along with other members of the KSU piano faculty.

Dr. Henry is an internationally distinguished pianist who regularly performs throughout the world as orchestral soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, and recording artist. Since winning first prize in four international piano competitions, he has presented solo debuts at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Wigmore Hall.     A performance by KSU School of Music faculty Charae Krueger, cello, Robert Henry, piano, and Helen Kim, violin. One of the featured works is Flame Language by KSU Composer-in-Residence Laurence Sherr. This remembrance composition is a setting of a poem by Holocaust survivor and Nobel laureate Nelly Sachs, and the performance comes just before the annual marking of International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27. Special guests joining Charae Krueger and Robert Henry to perform Flame Language are Heather Witt, mezzo-soprano, John Warren, clarinet, John Lawless, percussion, and David Kehler, conductor. Other works on the program are the Duo for Violin and Cello by Zoltán Kodály and the Beethoven D Major cello sonata.

On Friday, January 31, The KSU Faculty Jazz Parliament welcome guest trumpeter Melvin Jones for a concert. On Saturday, February 1, The TFSE Finale Gala concert will include the Georgia Brass Band and KSU Wind Ensemble, who will be joined by trumpeters Jose Sibaja, Melvin Jones, Brian Shaw, Doug Lindsey, and Ryan Moser.
