Gospel Choir Spring Concert

Led by Professor Emeritus Dr. Oral Moses, the KSU Gospel Choir features members from across the university and community who come together to perform sacred music ranging from traditional spirituals to gospel favorites in various styles.

KSU Wind Ensemble and KSU Symphony Orchestra featuring Winners of the 2018-19 KSU Concert Competition

KSU Symphony Orchestra, led by Director of Orchestral Studies Dr. Nathaniel F. Parker, and KSU Wind Ensemble, led by Director of Bands Dr. David Kehler, features performances by winners of the 2018-2019 KSU Concerto Competition as well as additional works by Jennifer Jolley, Ron Nelson, and more.
Brass Ensembles Showcase

The KSU brass area presents a special program featuring works by Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saens, and Mozart plus recent compositions by living composers and more written for various groupings of student brass players. Performance includes the KSU Trumpet Ensemble, Horn Choir, Trombone Ensemble, and Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble.
Men's Extravaganza, KSU Men's Ensemble and Chamber Singers with special guests Sequoyah High School Men's Chorus

The KSU Men's Ensemble and Chamber Singers, led by Director of Choral Activities Dr. Leslie Blackwell, presents a special men's choral performance with the Sequoyah High School Men’s Chorus, directed by Josh Markham.

University Band and Wind Symphony Spring Concert

Jazz Ensemble I & II

This performance features KSU Jazz Ensemble I led by Director of Jazz Studies Sam Skelton performing a special program titled "Bone Voyage," and KSU Jazz Ensemble II led by Wes Funderburk, Artist-in-Residence in Jazz Studies and Jazz Trombone.

Summit Piano Trio

The Summit Piano Trio presents a special recital featuring violinist Helen Kim (Professor of Violin), cellist Charae Krueger (Artist-in-Residence in Cello), and pianist Robert Henry (Director of Piano Studies and Assistant Professor of Music).

This performance features the KSU Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Assistant Professor of Music Education Dr. Nancy Conley, and KSU Women's Choir directed by Dr. Alison Mann, Associate Professor of Choral Music Education.

This performance of KSU Mixed Chamber Ensembles features students performing a variety of chamber works for various groupings of instruments.

Student Composers' Recital 2019

Ben Champion, Nicholas A. Felder, Matthias Kosse, Yazmeen Mayes, Nolan Rodack, and Brianna Spottsville

This special program features world-premiere performances of original works created by current student composers of the KSU School of Music under the supervision of KSU Composer-in-Residence, Dr. Laurence Sherr, and faculty composer Jennifer Mitchell. An exciting feature of the concert will be the premiere of a 30-minute, Broadway-style musical by Nicholas Felder. The musical, titled "Rick and Josie," is a love story performed by students in the School of Music and Department of Theater and Performance Studies with accompaniment by faculty member Judith Cole. Also featured will be a woodwind quintet by Ben Champion plus several additional student works.
