Mixed Chamber Ensembles, Fall 2018
This performance features students performing a variety of chamber works for various groupings of instruments.

Opera Theater, "Deception"
KSU Opera Theater presents the annual Fall Opera Gala featuring scenes that explore the comedy of errors, chicanery, and dramatic passion in an evening of Deception. Performance includes scenes from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, Johann Strauss' Die Fledermaus, Verdi's Falstaff, and Bernstein's Candide. This performance will be held in Scott Hall in the Bailey Performance Center.

University Band and Wind Symphony
This KSU School of Music performance features KSU University Band, led by Assistant Director of Bands Dr. Trey Harris, and KSU Wind Symphony, led by Associate Director of Bands Dr. Debra Traficante.

Gospel Choir Fall Concert
Deondria West, Joselle Buadoo, Asa Bradley, Lauryn Davis, and Joshua Brown
Led by Professor Emeritus Dr. Oral Moses, the KSU Gospel Choir features members from across the university and community who come together to perform sacred music ranging from traditional spirituals to gospel favorites in various styles.

KSU Confucius Institute presents "East Meets West" Chinese-American Cultural Exchange Concert
Di Sheng, Yan Lu, Ting Yao, Jana Young, Todd Wedge, Nathan Munson, and Eric Jenkins
Presented by the KSU Confucius Institute and KSU School of Music, this special performance will feature singers from the Yangzhou University College of Music with additional performances by faculty and students of the KSU School of Music. The program will include Chinese folk songs, poetry, art songs, and opera as well as works by Mozart, Puccini, Gluck, and more performed by soprano Ms. Di Sheng, soprano and Head of Vocal Music Teaching, Ms. Yan Lu, and baritone and Head of Music Performance Teaching, Mr. Ting Yao.

Symphony Orchestra featuring Benjamin Chin, piano
Benjamin Chin
The KSU Symphony Orchestra, led by Director of Orchestral String Studies Dr. Nathaniel Parker, performs works by Bernstein, Sibelius, and Marquez, plus the piano division winner of the 2018 KSU Young Artists Competition, pianist Benjamin Chin, performing as featured soloists for Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 "Emperor" (I. Allegro).

Choral Ensembles

KSU Choral Ensembles present a special program titled, "In Search of Love, Beauty, and Grace," featuring the KSU Chamber Singers, University Chorale, and Men's Ensemble led by Director of Choral Activities Dr. Leslie Blackwell and KSU Women's Choir led by Dr. Alison Mann, Associate Professor of Choral Music Education.

Brass Ensembles Showcase

The KSU brass area presents a special program featuring chamber works by Hindemith, Debussy, Rimsky-Korsakov, and more performed by the KSU Trumpet Ensemble, Horn Choir, Trombone Choir, Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble and Quartet and the Proscenium Brass Quintet.

2018–19 Concerto Competition Final Round
The 2018 KSU School of Music Concerto Competition culminates in this performance featuring instrumental students competing to perform as a featured soloist with the KSU Symphony Orchestra or KSU Wind Ensemble in Spring 2019. The winner of the student composition competition will also be announced.

The KSU Faculty Jazz Parliament presents "Blue," a special performance highlighting the members of the School of Music's talented jazz faculty. This performance will include vocalist Karla Harris, Sam Skelton and Luke Weathington on reeds, Rob Opitz on trumpet, Wes Funderburk on trombone, Trey Wright on guitar, Tyrone Jackson on piano, Marc Miller on bass, and Justin Chesarek on drums.

Summit Trio and Friends

The Summit Trio presents a very special recital featuring Brahms' epic Piano Quintet in F minor (Op. 34). Perhaps one of the most beloved pieces of chamber music, this is the first time the work will be performed at Kennesaw State. Summit Trio is violinist Helen Kim (Professor of Violin), cellist Charae Krueger (Artist-in-Residence and Lecturer of Cello), and pianist Robert Henry (Director of Piano Studies and Assistant Professor of Music) with KSU faculty guests Kenn Wagner, violin, and Cathy Lynn, viola.
