Description of Work
The William Root House is one of Marietta's oldest remaining structures. It has undergone several structural and location changes, making it an important part of the city's historic heritage. The building has been analyzed and documented for structural element changes, as well as material and painting analyses. However, no analysis of the events that contributed to its proportional change has been conducted today. In this study, we look at some of the reasons for the William Root house's size changes, from its initial construction to its final rezoning on Polk Street.
