Philharmonic and University Band Fall Concert

KSU School of Music presents a performance by Philharmonic, directed by Dr. Nancy Conley, and University Band, directed by Dr. Trey Harris.
Mirari Brass Quintet, "Renewed, Reused, Recycled"

Alex Noppe, Matt Vangjel, Jesse Thoman, Sarah Paradis, and Stephanie Frye

Performing a wide wariety of works from Renaissance music to Charles Mingus, the Mirari Brass Quintet delight and inspire with their engaging and eclectic style of performance and bring a spirit of joyful collaboration and innovation to music spanning many centuries and genres. The commissioners of multiple new works for brass, the group performs a spectacular tight-rope act balancing intensity with levity and refined virtuosity with pure fun.
Men's Ensemble and University Chorale Fall Choral Concert

Wind Symphony

This performance features KSU Wind Symphony directed by Dr. Debra Traficante, Associate Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Music.
Jazz Ensembles

KSU Jazz Ensemble I, directed by Sam Skelton, plays a set featuring the "West Coast Sound" and Jazz Ensemble II, directed by Wes Funderburk, performs hits and standards for big band.

Duo Trompiano!

Ryan Moser, Douglas Lindsey, and Judith Cole

Judy Cole and Doug Lindsey met in the Fall of 2012 and have since performed dozens of concerts all over Georgia and the Southeast. From their very first collaboration, Duo Trompiano! have been committed to making great music accessible to audiences of all ages that spans genres from jazz standards to modern trumpet repertoire.
Interchange III: "Medium"

Todd Wedge, Judith Cole, Charae Krueger, John Lawless, and Tyrone Jackson

Join the KSU School of Music and the Zuckerman Museum of Art for Interchange III, our third collaborative roving recital presented in the museum. This special performance features musical works selected to correspond with artwork and concepts presented in the ZMA’s fall exhibition, Medium. Journey through the museum’s galleries while listening to KSU faculty members perform works that explore liminal spaces, uneasy pasts, and mystical forces alongside art that does the same.

Faculty chamber recital featuring violinist Helen Kim, cellist Charae Krueger, and pianist Julie Coucheron performing Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No. 2 (Op.66) and Dvorak's Piano Trio No. 4 (Op. 90, "Dumky").
Year of India: Savitri

Jerry Fields, Souryadeep Bhattacharyya, Amir Sanders, Lily Helmly, Jordan Slaton, Oral Moses, Deondria West, and Jason Raphaël

In this compelling tale of love and devotion, the Hindu heroine, Savitri, challenges both destiny and the god of death himself in her determination to save the life of her husband. This gripping performance is told through the beautiful music of Gustav Holst and the classic South Indian dance form, Bharatanatyam. Presented as part of KSU's Year of India, this special performance features student performers from the KSU School of Music Opera Theater program and Department of Dance. This production is directed by Todd Wedge with choreography by Rifka Mayani and music direction by Judy Cole.
Street Corner Symphony

Jeremy Lister, Jonathan Lister, Kurt Zimmerman, Kaleb Jones, and Armand Hutton

Street Corner Symphony is an a cappella group based out of Nashville, Tennessee. They became internationally known in 2010 after becoming runners up on Season 2 of NBC's all vocal competition, The Sing-Off. Their music covers a wide range of style, appealing to young and old alike.
