Abstract
Songs of a Phoenix is a collection of creative non-fiction and poetry compiled together as memoir. It explores themes of mental illness, trauma (self-inflicted or otherwise), love, grief, and relationships. Each piece of the project was developed during the author's time earning her MAPW degree with Kennesaw State University.
