Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) has reached a point in society where it is difficult to ignore or find integrated into everyday life. To keep up with AI’s rapid growth, modern workplaces and educational institutions are scrambling to identify the best practices that align with ethical guidelines, causing unexpected uncertainties. Still, the path to achieving such standards has been nonlinear, leading many to reconsider how AI can best fit their environments, if at all, especially in pedagogy. This portfolio is a compilation of projects, published articles, applied use cases, and supported research created within the MAPW program at Kennesaw State University to encourage and support the usage of AI within the classroom, while also identifying its limitations and potential malpractices. Current research suggests that ethical standards, personalized structure, and continuous usage of AI tools can increase digital literacy in users while also decreasing their over-reliance on such tools. Branching off AI and looking at the state of the Internet as a whole, serving as a nostalgic reflection of how far and how advanced technology has grown in the last few decades for users, both in their technical capabilities and aesthetic design choices. By conducting literature reviews, interviewing published authors, creating custom GPTs, and developing online webtexts, the projects and papers featured in this portfolio demonstrate and argue that the implementation of AI can further strengthen the skills of students, workers, and creators, as technological advancements inevitably continue.
