Abstract
A Thousand Autumns is an interactive narrative that blends magical realism with Japanese mythology. Set in modern-day Japan, it follows Chiaki Fujiwara, a young woman still coping with her grandfather’s disappearance. The player follows Chiaki on her journey of self-discovery as she juggles interpersonal relationships at her job while encountering supernatural elements in a vast forest near her home. This approach to interactive storytelling explores themes of grief, loss, and the connection between nature and humanity while illustrating Chiaki’s personal growth.
