Abstract
The author offers his views on the changes in family business management from 1989 to 2009. He cites research that suggests that the more bonded family members are to one another and the company, the better the company performs and the longer the family business survives. He advises parents and children to continually work on their relationships, business-wise and family-wise. The author notes the need to financially support family business research that would help family business leaders in making decisions.
