Abstract
The article discusses the need to educate the students not just for tests but also for developing the problem solving ability by applying open end question system and conceptual understanding. It suggests that students should follow the National council of teachers of mathematics (NCTM) Process Standards which includes Problem Solving, Reasoning and Proof, and Representation. It suggests that it can help out the teachers to find out students ways of thinking and misconceptions.
