Abstract

The article presents the idea of geocaching. Geocaching is a high tech treasure hunting and a fun interactive way to enjoy the outdoors and receive the benefits of exercise. Participants in geocaching use a Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) unit to find the coordinates where a cache is hidden and costs less than $100 each at www.walmart.com or www.offroute.com. A database of caches is maintained at geocaching.com which allows participants to log their caches for their record of which caches they have found.
