Description of Work

This essay was inspired by the profile project assignment. This was an assignment given to allow students the opportunity to further investigate a person, picture, or place, then create a blog site and an essay, detailing what we learned during said investigation. My essay was based on an interview I conducted with a person that is very special to me, my Pop-Pop Clyde Foreman Sr. I wanted to receive a first-hand account of the effects of growing up in an environment in which he not only experienced Jim Crow laws, but also experienced sharecropping in the deep rural south. It was my goal to learn how these vast experiences shaped his upbringing from a child, and the role it played in shaping him as a person today.
