This course will examine issues associated with environmental factors and conditions and their impact on the health of individuals and communities. Topics will include environmental epidemiology, toxicology, policy, and regulation as well as environmental agents of disease and the implementation of environmental interventions to improve public health and safety.

Environmental health focuses on the impact of the Environment on human health. This course is designed to help students in the public health education discipline examine issues associated with environmental factors and conditions and their impact on the health of individuals and communities. Topics will include environmental epidemiology, toxicology, policy, and regulation as well as environmental agents of disease and the implementation of environmental interventions to improve public health and safety.
Enrolled students will be guided through this logically designed asynchronous online course by first viewing the Welcome message along with the Welcome Video for what, where, and how they need to get started. Simple and user friendly visual guides are provided such as how use the Groups tool to “sign-up” for the Environment Health Issues Presentation via VoiceThread, and how to use VoiceThread. The Course include Start Here Module where students will find syllabus, assignment guidelines, link to e-textbook and other reading materials, and optional learning strategies. There are 8 Learning Modules with each starting with a module objective and task followed by lecture notes, assignments, relevant links to the readings and/or external learning tools. The 8 learning module design allows the course to be easily adapted to a 8-week summer session.
