Abstract
Doug Deur is currently a consultant and research faculty member, working with groups of native peoples on issues relating to tribal land and resource use, cultural significance of landscapes, and sense of place . Trained in cultural geography and anthropology at the University of Oregon, Simon Fraser University, and Louisiana State University, he currently dwells in the mist-shrouded forests of the Oregon coast
