Abstract
The third edition of Economic Geography is very similar to its predecessors in organization and content. The changes, aside from statistical updates and incorporation of new research and perspectives, are: the addition of two coauthors (Thrall and Fik); the inclusion of a chapter on the global economy; the combining of two chapters on the economic geography of energy into a single chapter; and, the movement of the last chapter, " ProblemSolving Approaches and Analytical Methods in Economic Geography," to an appendix or reference section. Additionally, the series of world maps depicting demographic characteristics and measures of economic/technological development, by country has been colorized in this edition. Unfortunately, while the color enhances the plates, it also exaggerates the error in the first map showing the stages of the demographic transition.
