Abstract
This book provides university faculty and students, as well as the practitioner, an introduction to the theoretical and technical principles that need to be understood to work effectively in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). General principles, opportunities, and pitfalls of recording, collecting, storing, retrieving, analyzing, and presenting spatial information are examined.
