Abstract
Gamma Theta Upsilon, the international geography honor society, has just awarded five scholarships for 1996, each worth $500. Four of the scholarships are for undergraduate geography majors and one is for a graduate student in geography. The winners were as follows: Christopher Bertram, who was awarded the O. Orland Maxfield Scholarship. Christopher is a geography major at South Dakota State University, where he is President of the Delta Zeta Chapter. The Chapter sponsor, Darrell Napton, remarked that few geography majors have had as great an impact upon the department in as short a time as Chris. He is interested in the environmental side of geography.
