Abstract

Start-up businesses require a strong content strategy to succeed in modern and competitive markets. One of the most critical components of a successful content strategy is hiring a User Experience (UX) writer. Traditionally, the UX writer has been a professional writer who specifically focuses on creating content that enhances the user experience on all digital platforms. As modern conveniences and innovative technologies advance, UX writers have new opportunities to become the go-to for virtually all content produced and imagined by start-up businesses. UX writing can boost content efforts by making every interaction between the business and the customer engaging, relevant, and easy to understand all while fostering brand loyalty and establishing impactful future content measures that will work to bridge the communication gap for businesses as they grow. Before a business enters the market, hiring committees need to understand that UX writing and content strategy are fusing into one fundamental role as the era of customer-centeredness emerges and stabilizes. Ensuring a positive customer experience for gaining loyalty and engagement will become the first step for the majority of businesses creating new approaches to content. The research established here explores the essential need of hiring a UX writer to create the content strategy for nearly all start-up businesses. It also provides an overview of the skills and responsibilities that a UX writer will need to develop and what specific actions they can take to become that invaluable resource to help start-ups achieve their business goals. Finally, I offer a UX writing strategy that entails the UX writer in all content strategy and development from inception.
