Abstract
Inspired by the Greensboro sit-ins in 1960, students from Atlanta colleges followed suit and assembled a civil rights movement to combat the legalized segregation in the city of Atlanta. “Spelmanite Soldiers” tells the story of the brave women behind the movement that meticulously organized demonstrations to dismantle and disrupt the racial and political climate of the 1960s.
