Department Chair: Dr. Austin Asgil

Engineering Technology is a branch of engineering education that emphasizes the practical aspects of engineering rather than abstract concepts or theories. It is a blend of the application of science, engineering knowledge, and technical skills used in support of engineering activities.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology Department at Kennesaw State University offers many diverse areas of study including: communications, power, audio, digital design, controls, biomedical, and computer design. Highly ranked and nationally respected, our four engineering technology programs provide plenty of hands-on learning. Flexible schedules give you the option of attending day or night, and our faculty bring their consulting experience into every lab. In small classes and on team projects, you learn the practical skills needed in many careers, from design and test engineering to research and development, sales, management, and telecommunications network administration. Engineering technologists could fill four out of every five engineering positions in the U.S., and industry and educational leaders consider our graduates among the best.

The goal of the department is to provide each student with high-quality teaching, the best academic and technological resources, and in-depth practical experiences. This will ensure that our graduates will be prepared for successful careers in the electrical, computer, and telecommunications industries.
