About This Journal

In 1972, Georgia Archive, now Provenance, became the first professional archival journal published by a state or regional organization. The Society of American Archivists gave the publication an award of merit in 1975. Today, Provenance is published annually and is circulated national and internationally to over 300 members including libraries, universities, and historical societies.

Provenance is an online, open access journal. New issues are made available via Kennesaw State University's Digital Commons platform. If you are interested in purchasing a physical copy of the journal, please visit the Society of Georgia Archivists' e-commerce site where issues from 2011 (Volume 29, Issue 1) forward are available. If you are interested in an earlier issue, please contact provenance@soga.org to express your interest in having older back issues added to the site.
