Abstract
The article reports on the use of sales and operations planning (S&OP) in the water crisis at the metro-Atlanta, Georgia in 2009. A project was designed throughout the water crisis to offer students practical experience with the process of the S&OP. Students benefited practice with the objectives of S&OP as they defined a forecast of future water demand and long- and short-term supply alternatives for coping the demand.
