Abstract

Family business has been witnessing exponential growth as a field of academic study. As with other disciplines, scientific progress is founded to a large extent on the availability and rigorous application of research methods. The purpose of this article is to introduce the reader to the content featured in the special issue on research methods in family business and provide a perspective on how the consistent application of certain methods may advance the field.
