Abstract

Sayers et al discusses transition plans for community-based physical activities for the general and adapted elementary physical education program. Planning should include identification of the student's abilities, interests, and goals for sport and recreation activities, considering their cultural beliefs and values. A transition plan for an elementary student must remain flexible, because the student's abilities may change and the student's or the family's interests and resources may change as well.
