Access for All: Time to Make a Theme the Reality

Abstract
July 11–17, 2004, the world will again focus on the international HIV/AIDS pandemic. The 15th World AIDS Conference, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, will provide a forum at which scientists, care providers, community leaders, and persons infected and affected with HIV come together to report new data, share experiences, and seek new strategies in addressing a true world crisis. The 2004 World Conference theme is “Access for All.” This theme underscores the need for access to treatment and care for all individuals worldwide who are HIV infected, as well as access to prevention resources for those not infected. Such universal access is a worthy but challenging goal.
