Description of Work
The idea for this essay originally started as a simple question: Where were Marietta firemen’s horses kept? That question divulged into hundreds of others as I learned about the seemingly undiscovered history of Marietta’s first firehouse. Unlike many other historic buildings in Marietta Square, the firehouse, which has a likewise long and venerable history, has been of little scholarly interest.
